However, in production environment Appeon Server uses JDBC driver to connect to the database, the same way that PB does.

If Microsoft script debugger is not correctly installed and registered on the same machine or the script debugging is disabled in Internet Explorer, Microsoft script debugger would run into errors, which will prevent Appeon Debugger working properly. You can refer to the Appeon help> Appeon Developer User Guide> Debugging Appeon Web Applications> Important Requirements.

You can also roll back to IE8 from IE9 on W7 by doing the following: 

1.       Open the Programs and Features window: Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features

2.       Then click the “View installed updates” on the left-hand side.

3.       Scroll down to the Microsoft Windows heading and select “Internet Explorer 9”, then click uninstall.

You can also use appeon client Log Feature (provided in Appeon 6.6)   

 You can download the Microsoft script debugger from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22185.

Besides please do the following modification:  

Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\
Add one DWORD value:TabProcGrowth = 0 which functions by deleting one iexplore.exe progress from the two.

 IE 8 has a feature that starts two iexplore.exe progresses that's why Appeon Debugger can't enable the Web application to stop at the break point. Please do the above modification to allow Appeon debugger work correctly.

Appeon Mobile debugger will be available with Appeon 2.x (subject to change)
The Mobile Debugger will work inside the Mobile Emulator (not on the actual mobile device).

Appeon Debugger

Appeon debugger helps engineer to test and debug their mobile application.  It works very similar to PowerBuilder Debugger, which allows PB engineer to set breakpoints and watch variables for their mobile application. 

Appeon Emulator

Appeon Emulator is a virtual mobile devices that runs on the Windows systems. The emulator give the PB engineer flexibility to develop and test their mobile applications without deploying to the app store/market, and using a physical iOS, android, and windows smart phones and tablets.

The supported format can be an excel or an xml. 

This file will give the list of the unsupported features of your application.

Upload and download files on the web in WAN

The upload file directory on the file server is the value of file-path in %FileService_HOME%\appeonfileserver.xml (for example: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\fileservice\appeonfileserver.xml), the content of the xml file is like below(the upload file directory on the file server is 'C:\appeon' in this file):

That might be caused by that the cache of Appeon File Server doesn’t match the actual file. For example, if you manually modify or override a file directly in Appeon File Server machine instead of uploading a new file by Appeon File Server, then this error would occur.

Please go to Appeon File Server and find the directory of that file, then delete the appeon.lst under that directory (it’s the cache file of Appeon File Server), and then restart IIS.

We recommend customers use the Appeon Server Status Monitor to monitor the Server resources.

Monitoring Network Traffic:

Appeon Server is an application upon the Application server and can be monitored as such.

For example, you can monitor port 80 of IIS to view the network traffic of Appeon applications.

You need to delete the file in file server manually, and the file appeon.lst in the same folder where your deleted file is located must be deleted at the same time.

Below some general information that will help you using this functionality:

• The functions: of_appeonupload() and of_appeondownload()  can not upload and download the multi files. They can only upload/download 1 file.
• The function of_appeonupload() can't save with the same name two different files, you need to rename/delete one of them before execute the of_appeondownload().. There is a parameter ‘isrename’ (if it is set to “True”) of function of_appeonupload() to let the user replace or rename the file when another file with the same name already exists. But if ‘isrename’ is set to “False” then the existed file with the same name will be covered.

You can refer to the Appeon Performance Tuning Guide and to the document "How to debut the Appeon Application "- see attachment.

We also recommend you read Yakov Werde’s article called "Appeon Performance Tuning" (see attached). This article explains why PB code can have problems on the Web  and explains Technique #4 in the Performance Tuning Guide .

From the techniques used in the Performance Tuning Guide, we advise the use of technique # 1 - to move the logic of your application to the stored procedures.

You would need to use the latest AWS by following Appeon instructions to solve this issue.

Also please note that in the future you won’t need to re-do this procedure since we will merge this change to an Appeon EBF.
